For this design, I set out to honor Chloé’s heritage while weaving in my own story, as each of its designers has done before. A visit to the Chloé archives in Paris revealed endless inspiration, but I was especially captivated by Karl Lagerfeld’s ivory silk dresses, defined by handmade lacing strips in bold geometric lines. From that spark, I created my own lace strips through crocheted granny squares, combining them with hand-pleated silk chiffon to form a flowing silhouette inspired by the Ancient Greek tunica talaris.

At the heart of this look is amber thread, a patented Latvian innovation with natural antifungal properties and deep cultural meaning. In Latvian tradition, amber is both protective amulet and ancestral symbol — “Gold of the Baltic Sea” that safeguards home and family. For me, it carries personal resonance, recalling my grandmother’s amber necklace given for healing and protection. By integrating this material into the design, I connect my heritage with Chloé’s spirit of delicacy, strength, and flow.

The Chloé woman I envisioned is a modern sorceress — intuitive, confident, and free-spirited, empowered by both tradition and innovation. This vision was recognized internationally when the design was awarded the Chloé Prize at the International Festival of Fashion, Accessories, and Photography in Hyères, 2021.
